Now, everyone should accept the fact that the road in a big city is no longer able to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles. In cities such as Kuala Lumpur said there are about one million vehicles enter each day. Many factors contribute to this bottleneck. New One cause is an imbalance between the rate of increase with increasing total vehicle area of the road. Each day the number of vehicles increases, whereas the addition of arguably the area of the road very slowly. This imbalance makes the density of vehicles on the road is getting higher. Thus, there is a traffic jam. A rapidly increasing population requires more land for living. So, a lot of areas that should be reserved in preparation for bringing up the road had to be used for residential settlement.
Another consequence of the occurrence of traffic congestion is a physical illness. Serious traffic congestion can cause contamination of the lungs, shortness of breath and dizziness. Engine noise can cause hearing damage and concentration disorders. In addition, traffic congestion can also cause psychological tension. This occurs because road users had to spend many hours on the road. Studies conducted by psychologists suggests that urban society often prone to tension as a result of traffic congestion, environmental pollution and noise.
In conclusion, all parties involved need to act urgently address this problem before it poses a serious socio-economic consequences.
